WELCOME TO TRAZANDO ESPACIOS!

Trazando Espacios is a non-profit organization that teaches and builds citizenship by transforming public spaces with participatory design tools.

The participants execute the design of one or several interventions in the selected public space that respects their cultural identity. In this phase, we ask the neighbors about the space to intervene and we translate the first ideas into collages. Finally, models are made and then presented to the community.

The first stage of the workshop introduces the participants to the concepts of public space and identity. Using maps, cameras and measuring tape, they are able to analyze their community in terms of public space and cultural identity. This stage of the workshop ends with a public exhibition of maps, photographs and ideas to restore or create new public spaces

This stage focuses on executing the chosen designs with the participants, specialists in the subject and volunteers from the community. Finally, an opening ceremony for the space intervened is organized and it is important to invite the community at large to participate.
